Amita Chaudhury appointed Vice-Chair of UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance Board

Amita Chaudhury has been appointed as the Vice-Chair of the Board of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI). With decades of experience in leading sustainability efforts across global organisations, Amita brings deep expertise to this role. She currently serves as the Group Head of Sustainability at AIA, where she has been leading the organisation’s sustainability programmes to promote Healthier, Longer, Better Lives across Asia.

Before joining AIA, Amita Chaudhury worked with Unilever for more than nine years, where she led critical roles including Head of Sustainable Business for South East Asia and Australasia, and Global Diversity and Inclusion Director. She also contributed significantly as Senior Advisor for Sustainability at the United Nations Global Compact during a secondment from Unilever. Throughout her career, Amita has developed impactful strategies to integrate sustainability and responsible business practices across multinational organisations.

In her new role, Amita will work closely with the PSI Board to advance sustainable insurance practices globally. Representing AIA Group, she is committed to helping the insurance industry better manage environmental, social, and governance risks, and strengthen its role in building a healthier and more resilient society. Her appointment to the UNEP FI PSI Board reinforces AIA’s dedication to sustainability leadership in the insurance sector.

AIA has been a signatory to the Principles for Sustainable Insurance since 2021 and continues to champion initiatives that contribute to a sustainable future for communities across Asia.
