Amrendra Singh has been appointed as the Group Head of Equity Capital Markets at SBI Capital Markets, the investment banking arm of State Bank of India. With nearly 25 years of experience within the SBI Group, Singh steps into this leadership role, replacing Deepak Kaushik.
Singh began his journey with SBI in May 2000 and has held several key leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Deputy General Manager, where he played a crucial role in asset-liability management, navigating liquidity and interest rate risks to ensure financial stability. His tenure also includes serving as Regional Head, where he oversaw operations across 40 branches, and as Chief Risk Officer at SBI-SG, where he implemented corporate governance best practices.
A CFA charterholder and a Certified Financial Risk Manager, Singh has been instrumental in banking innovation, risk management, and regulatory compliance. His expertise spans across anti-money laundering, securities regulation, and financial market risk mitigation. At SBI Capital Markets, he will lead equity capital market strategies, driving key public issue mandates, including those of Tata Capital, Hero FinCorp, National Securities Depository Ltd., JSW Cement, and Schloss Bangalore.
With his deep understanding of financial markets and a strong risk management background, Singh’s appointment at SBI Capital Markets is expected to strengthen the firm’s position in the investment banking sector. His leadership will be crucial in navigating market complexities and ensuring strategic financial growth for the organization.
