Axis Bank has announced the elevation of Bipin Saraf, Rajkamal Vempati, and Sameer Shetty as group executives overseeing key verticals of the bank. Bipin Saraf has been elevated to lead the Bharat Banking vertical. With decades of experience in banking and business strategy, Bipin will help expand Axis Bank’s services in India’s underserved markets. His leadership in Bharat Banking will be pivotal in improving customer engagement and increasing the bank’s footprint in these regions. Bipin has previously held leadership roles in major organizations, further strengthening his expertise. Rajkamal brings over two decades of experience, having previously worked with ICICI Bank, ICICI Lombard GIC, and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company. His deep knowledge of human resources and organizational culture will be critical in shaping Axis Bank’s employee relations and talent development strategies. Rajkamal’s leadership will focus on strengthening HR functions within the bank.
Sameer Shetty, who has been serving as the head of Digital Business and Transformation at Axis Bank since July 2019, has been elevated to further enhance the bank’s digital transformation strategy. Sameer brings over 12 years of experience from McKinsey & Company, where he worked as a partner, along with experience at HSBC. His strategic leadership and expertise in digital transformation are set to shape the future growth of Axis Bank, keeping it at the forefront of technological advancements in banking.
These appointments, effective from April 1, 2025, are part of Axis Bank’s plan to strengthen its leadership team and ensure continued excellence in customer service and competitiveness in the banking sector.
