Mr. Raman Krishnamoorthy Venkat has been appointed as the Chief Risk Officer at New India Assurance, effective March 21, 2025. The decision was approved during the board meeting held on March 21, 2025. Mr. Raman, currently serving as General Manager at New India Assurance, takes over this role from Mr. C S Ayyappan.
Mr. Raman Krishnamoorthy Venkat brings over three decades of extensive experience in the General Insurance industry, having handled multiple key portfolios including Marketing, Administration, Finance, IT Implementation, and UK Branch Operations. A Science graduate from Madras University and a distinguished Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, he has demonstrated expertise in risk management and financial controls across various leadership roles.
Prior to his current position at New India Assurance, Mr. Raman served as the General Manager & CFO at Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited. His longstanding association with New India Assurance spans nearly four decades, during which he has held pivotal roles such as Deputy General Manager, Chief Manager, Head of Finance and Reinsurance, and Deputy Chief Executive in London. His leadership in financial restructuring, IT upgradation, and compliance has played a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.
As he steps into the role of Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Raman is expected to bring strategic insights and robust risk management frameworks to further strengthen New India Assurance’s commitment to financial stability and regulatory excellence. His vast experience and deep understanding of the insurance sector will be instrumental in navigating emerging risks and ensuring the company’s sustained growth.
