Anand R Dungarwal has been appointed as Vice President of Research and Development at JSW Commercial Electric Vehicles. With over two decades of experience in the automotive industry, Anand brings a wealth of expertise in product development, vehicle integration, and advanced technology implementation. He is expected to spearhead the company’s R&D initiatives, focusing on innovations in commercial electric vehicles.
Anand holds a postgraduate degree in Automotive Engineering and an Executive MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies. His educational background, combined with his extensive industry experience, equips him to lead strategic advancements in vehicle technology. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in designing and developing a wide range of commercial vehicles, including small commercial vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, and electric buses.
During his tenure at Tata Motors, Anand held several leadership roles, including Family Chief Engineer for Electric Buses and Divisional Head of Chassis Systems. He was a key figure in the development of Tata Motors’ electric and fuel cell buses, contributing to the company’s expansion into sustainable vehicle technology. His contributions extended to lifecycle budgeting, regulatory compliance, and the introduction of cutting-edge technologies in commercial vehicle portfolios.
Anand’s expertise is not limited to India; he has successfully managed cross-functional teams across multiple countries, including Thailand, China, Korea, the US, and Germany. His global exposure has enabled him to drive advancements in ADAS systems, EV platforms, and chassis technologies. Additionally, he has been at the forefront of integrating 3D digital mock-up processes, CAD design, and vehicle validation into large-scale projects.
Before his long-standing association with Tata Motors, Anand began his career at Bajaj Tempo Ltd (now Force Motors), where he focused on vehicle dynamics and light commercial vehicle engineering. His early experiences laid a strong foundation for his subsequent contributions to the automotive sector.
