Arun Mathews has been appointed as the Head of HR at Max Fashion India, part of the Landmark Group. He succeeds Alex Mathew, who served as Head of HR for 12 years and has now moved to KPN Farm Fresh as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
In his new role, Arun Mathews will be responsible for shaping and implementing HR strategies for Max Fashion India. His duties will include overseeing leadership development, succession planning, HR operations, learning and development, talent engagement, diversity and inclusion, performance and rewards management, HR analytics, and process transformations, all while ensuring overall employee well-being.
Mathews’ journey with Max Fashion began in 2017 when he joined as the Regional Head of HR for Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. In 2020, he was promoted to Head of Retail HR at Max Fashion.
Before joining Max Fashion, Mathews worked with Future Retail as the Area Head of HR for Kerala and Tamil Nadu. He started his career at Future Retail in 2007 as a management trainee and took on various HR roles across regions. He also participated in the Future Group’s LEAP programme, a leadership development initiative. Mathews served Future Retail for ten years before moving to Max Fashion.
With over 17 years of experience, Mathews is skilled in defining people strategies and providing functional leadership across all HR domains. His expertise encompasses leadership development, succession planning, HR operations, learning and development, talent engagement, diversity and inclusion, performance and rewards management, HR analytics, process transformations, and fostering employee well-being.
Mathews holds a management degree from the Rajagiri School of Management, Kerala.
