Carlyle has appointed Anuj Poddar, former CEO of Bajaj Electricals, as the Head of Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) for Asia. Based in Mumbai, Poddar will collaborate with Carlyle Asia’s investment advisory teams and leaders to drive transformational change and improve performance across portfolio companies.
Greg Zeluck, Managing Director and Co-Head of Carlyle Asia, expressed excitement about Poddar’s appointment, noting that his extensive experience and leadership will significantly enhance Carlyle’s efforts in boosting portfolio company performance.
Before joining Carlyle, Poddar led Bajaj Electricals as CEO, where he was instrumental in transforming the company. He previously held senior leadership roles at Viacom 18 Media, driving the company’s expansion into mass entertainment and regional markets. Earlier in his career, Poddar spent a decade at KPMG and Arthur Andersen, providing consulting and M&A advisory services across sectors.
Poddar’s diverse experience across industries positions him well to lead Carlyle’s strategic efforts in Asia’s dynamic market.
