Deepak Tamoli has been promoted to Senior General Manager at Wagh Bakri Tea Group, marking a significant milestone in his career of dedicated leadership spanning five years with the company. Prior to this promotion, Deepak served as the General Manager of Learning & Development from March 2019 to June 2024. In this pivotal role, he spearheaded the group’s learning and development initiatives, overseeing the growth and development of more than 1800 employees. His strategic implementation of L&D strategies aimed at creating a future-ready workforce, along with leadership and functional development interventions, underscored his role in enhancing organizational development and engagement across the group.
Before joining Wagh Bakri Tea Group, Deepak held key positions at prominent organizations, including the Mahindra Group, where he served as Manager of Learning Organizational Development, overseeing L&D initiatives for over 500 corporate employees. His tenure at Samsonite as the L&D Lead from August 2016 to August 2018 further demonstrated his expertise in managing comprehensive L&D frameworks and interventions for a workforce exceeding 2000 employees, earning him accolades such as the Best Employee of the Year in 2017.
Deepak’s career began at Cipla Ltd., where he served as Manager of Learning & Development from August 2015 to July 2016, focusing on enhancing L&D initiatives for sales teams across Mumbai and Goa. His early career at Cafe Coffee Day, where he served as the Center of Excellence for Learning & Development from July 2011 to July 2015, equipped him with foundational experience in creating and implementing robust L&D programs nationwide.
