Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has promoted Ashwin Moorthy to the position of Global Head of Category Direction and Innovation. In this new role, Moorthy will continue to manage his responsibilities as Head of Marketing while taking on the added task of spearheading category direction and innovation globally. His appointment also includes his induction into the GCPL Global Management Committee, making him part of the company’s senior management.
Moorthy’s career journey began at Mindshare as a media planner, followed by a significant tenure at Unilever, where he managed well-known brands such as Taj Mahal and Lipton Tea. At GCPL, he has played a pivotal role in driving the Indian Soaps & Aircare business, as well as overseeing category direction, innovation, and equity for GCPL’s global categories across multiple markets.
With this elevation, Moorthy is expected to contribute even more to the company’s strategic growth, particularly in global innovation and category leadership.
