LinkedIn, the professional networking platform owned by Microsoft, has named Kumaresh Pattabiraman as the new Country Manager and Product Head for India. He steps into the role following Ashutosh Gupta’s departure in April 2024 after an 11-year tenure with the company. Gupta has since joined Avataar Venture Partners as an operational partner.
Pattabiraman began his journey at LinkedIn in July 2013 as a Group Product Manager for the Search and Discovery division. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience by improving key products like Feed and Search, as well as introducing innovative features such as Career Breaks and Profile Videos. With over 15 years of experience in engineering and product management, Pattabiraman’s leadership is expected to drive further growth and innovation for LinkedIn in India.
India, with over 135 million members, is LinkedIn’s second-largest market after the United States. Globally, LinkedIn boasts over a billion users and reported revenue of approximately $15 billion for the fiscal year 2023. Pattabiraman’s appointment underscores LinkedIn’s commitment to strengthening its presence and enhancing user experience in this key market.
