Roche Diagnostics appointed Omar Sherief Mohammad as the new Head of Strategy & Business Model Innovation for the EMEA-LATAM regions. This strategic role will see Omar driving Roche’s strategic vision and innovation across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Omar brings over 20 years of extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on sales, marketing, and strategic leadership. Prior to joining Roche Diagnostics, he served as Cluster Head for India, the Middle East, and Africa at Roche Diabetes Care. In this role, Omar was pivotal in steering the strategic direction and operational performance of the region, overseeing rapid growth and enhancing the company’s presence across diverse markets.
Before his tenure at Roche, Omar was the Vice President & General Manager at Novo Nordisk, where he managed the Southeast Asia Emerging Markets. His leadership in this role was marked by significant advancements in diabetes care and market expansion strategies. Omar’s career at Novo Nordisk also included roles as General Manager and Marketing Director, where he was instrumental in driving the company’s diabetes care portfolio and strategic initiatives.
Omar’s career began with roles at Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, Zydus Group, and Ranbaxy, where he gained foundational experience in brand management and product marketing. His diverse background includes roles such as Medical Representative, Product Executive, and Brand Manager, each contributing to his broad expertise in the pharmaceutical sector.
At Roche Diagnostics, Omar will be responsible for spearheading strategy and business model innovation, focusing on enhancing the company’s market positioning and driving growth in the EMEA-LATAM regions.
