Prakash Chari has been appointed as the National Head – Retail Business at Toothsi Aligners. In his new role, Prakash will lead the company’s strategy, growth, and operations in the retail segment, driving its expansion and strengthening its market presence. With a diverse career spanning healthcare, banking, textiles, and IT hardware, he brings a wealth of expertise in market entry, brand development, and operational management. His leadership style is rooted in his ability to foster cross-functional teams and oversee large-scale operations, making him a valuable addition to Toothsi Aligners.
Prakash’s vast career includes several key leadership roles in prominent organizations. Before joining Toothsi, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Oliva Skin & Hair Clinics, where he was instrumental in scaling the brand into the largest dermatology and trichology clinic chain in India. Under his leadership, Oliva expanded its footprint to multiple cities, growing from a handful of clinics to more than 30 locations across the country. He also played a significant role in launching more than 50 new products under the private label, which helped the company diversify its offerings and strengthen its market position.
At Oliva, Prakash oversaw various functions, including project management, supply chain, marketing, product development, and quality audit. His ability to manage and coordinate diverse teams in different departments was key to driving the brand’s success. Prakash’s leadership also extended to digital marketing and e-commerce, where he developed initiatives that successfully positioned the brand to the right target audiences through both online and traditional marketing channels.
Prior to his tenure at Oliva, Prakash held leadership roles at Apollo Dental, the dental division of Apollo Hospitals. As Vice President and Interim CEO, he managed the business operations of over 90 dental clinics spread across multiple cities. He was responsible for strategic brand positioning, clinic launches, marketing communications, and doctor engagement, overseeing a team of more than 100 dental surgeons and 250 consultants. His leadership in driving revenue maximization and cost optimization was critical in making Apollo Dental one of the leading dental care providers in India.
Prakash’s experience also extends to the banking sector, where he worked with Kotak Mahindra Bank. In his role as Senior Manager, he was responsible for managing high-net-worth portfolios and promoting third-party financial products such as mutual funds and insurance. His expertise in portfolio management and client relationship management helped the bank grow its retail liabilities segment, and he was consistently promoted during his tenure for his outstanding performance.
In addition to his work in healthcare and banking, Prakash has a strong foundation in investment analysis and portfolio management, skills he honed during his education at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. His expertise in financial models and investment strategies has allowed him to guide both individuals and organizations in making informed financial decisions. This financial acumen has been instrumental in his leadership roles, where he has managed multi-million-dollar portfolios and led successful business expansions.
