Rajeev Chauhan Takes Charge as VP for BYD India’s EV Business

BYD India has announced the appointment of Rajeev Chauhan as the new Vice President of the Electric Passenger Vehicle Business. Chauhan succeeds Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, who is retiring after an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the automobile industry. Prior to this role, Chauhan was instrumental in establishing the EV Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India.

With over 25 years of experience, Rajeev Chauhan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new position. His previous roles at Honda Cars India and Volvo Car India have equipped him with extensive experience in customer experience, retail network development, direct sales, product development, electrification, customer service, and digital transformation. Chauhan’s strategic acumen and leadership skills will be pivotal in optimizing retail capacity, enhancing customer orientation, and increasing company profitability. He will now spearhead the overall electric passenger vehicle business for BYD India.

BYD India is gearing up to update the Atto 3 in India with several enhancements. The company’s current EV lineup includes the e6 electric MPV, the ATTO 3 electric SUV, and the BYD Seal electric sedan, which boasts a range of up to 650 km.

Chauhan’s appointment comes at a crucial time as BYD India aims to strengthen its presence in the electric vehicle market and continue its growth trajectory in the region.
