Ritesh Khosla Appointed General Counsel of Sony Pictures Networks India, Succeeding Ashok Nambissan

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the appointment of Ritesh Khosla as its new General Counsel, effective September 1, 2024. He will be succeeding Ashok Nambissan in this key legal leadership role.

Khosla’s professional journey began as a practicing lawyer at a law firm before he joined SPNI. Over the past six years, he has served as Deputy General Counsel, demonstrating his capability and dedication. With more than two decades of experience, Khosla has developed extensive expertise in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, complex litigation, and the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

In his new capacity as General Counsel, Khosla will oversee several critical functions within SPNI, including Corporate Relations, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Secretarial, and Standards & Practices. He will be responsible for providing legal guidance and managing the company’s legal risks, in addition to serving as the Ombudsperson. He will report directly to the Managing Director & CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India.

Khosla’s role will also involve leading initiatives to strengthen SPNI’s compliance framework, with a particular focus on digital and intellectual property rights. He will work towards enhancing the company’s legal infrastructure in international markets and will oversee SPNI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, ensuring that they align with legal and ethical standards.

The company highlighted Khosla’s strategic thinking and strong legal skills, which are complemented by his commercial mindset for problem-solving and risk mitigation. These qualities make him well-suited to his new role and responsibilities.
