Mahindra Logistics has announced the elevation of Sanjay Gawde to the position of Head of HR and Administration, effective October 1, 2024. Gawde will succeed Edwin Lobo, who is opting for early retirement.
Sanjay Gawde’s journey with the Mahindra Group began in December 2021, initially handling group rewards. He later took on the role of heading group talent management in February 2024.
An alumnus of the University of Mumbai, Gawde began his career as an engineer with Gammon India in 1998. In 2000, he transitioned to human resources, joining GE Capital as Assistant Manager-HR. In December 2004, he moved to EXL Service as Manager-HR. From 2006 to 2009, he worked with Hewitt Associates as a Lead Consultant.
Gawde’s career further advanced at John Deere, where he started as General Manager-Compensation and Benefits in October 2009. He was promoted to Senior General Manager-HR, IR, and Admin within two years. In 2012, he relocated to Illinois, US, as Manager-Workforce Planning, Organisation Effectiveness, and Advanced Analytics. By 2015, he became the HR Business Partner for Global Tractor and Global IT.
In August 2017, Gawde returned to India to establish Pencilworks Learning Solutions. Less than two years later, he joined Lupin as Head of Total Rewards and Performance Management. His role at Lupin involved a strong focus on digitalization, analytics, technology, and empowerment.
In 2021, Gawde joined the Mahindra Group, managing group rewards, before taking on the role of heading group talent management earlier this year. His diverse background and extensive experience in HR make him well-suited for his new role at Mahindra Logistics.
