Shri Shalabh Goel (IRSEE) has assumed the pivotal role of Managing Director (MD) at the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in Indian Railways, Shri Goel brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position.
Shri Shalabh Goel is a member of the 1989 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee. He furthered his academic pursuits with a post-graduation in Energy Studies from IIT Delhi, underscoring his commitment to continuous learning and specialization in energy management.
Shri Goel joins NCRTC at a critical juncture as the organization prepares to operationalize the ambitious 82-km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. His extensive career includes significant leadership roles such as Executive Director at the Ministry of Railways, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) for Mumbai Division at Central Railway, and Chief Electrical Locomotive Engineer at Central Railway. Notably, during his tenure as DRM amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Shri Goel played a pivotal role in ensuring uninterrupted essential services and the safety of passengers and staff.
Before assuming his current role, Shri Goel served as Senior Deputy General Manager cum Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Western Railway, where he garnered substantial experience in railway operations, electrification, and general administration. His career has seen postings across Central Railway, Northern Railway, Western Railway, Ministry of Railways, and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), reflecting his versatility and deep understanding of the sector.
Throughout his career, Shri Goel has been the recipient of numerous accolades, including prestigious awards from the Minister of Railways and General Manager, recognizing his exceptional contributions and dedication to the railway industry.
As Managing Director of NCRTC, Shri Shalabh Goel is poised to lead the corporation through complex challenges and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing regional transport connectivity.
