Skoda Auto India has appointed Vishal Bhat as the new Head of Sales. Before this role, Bhat was responsible for aftersales operations and service at Volkswagen India and Skoda India.
With nearly 15 years of experience within the Volkswagen Group, Bhat’s appointment comes at a critical time for Skoda, which is gearing up for the launch of a new sub-4-meter SUV in early 2025. His expertise will be crucial in steering the sales team during this pivotal phase. One of his primary objectives will be to boost Skoda’s sales, which have recently dropped to less than 3,000 units per month, resulting in annual sales of approximately 36,000 units.
Bhat’s extensive experience in aftersales and service, including his previous roles at Volkswagen and Skoda, positions him well to lead the sales turnaround. His background includes positions at Maruti Suzuki and Hero MotoCorp. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Mumbai and a management degree in marketing and sales from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
