Dr. Mohapatra Joins Gallantt as Group Mining Head

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohapatra has joined Gallantt Ispat Ltd. (Gallantt Group) as Senior Vice President – Group Mining Head, bringing over 28 years of extensive experience across various commodities including coal, iron ore, manganese ore, limestone, bauxite, graphite, and critical minerals. His vast expertise spans both greenfield and brownfield mining projects, covering exploration, mine planning, mining operations, costing & budgeting, Operational Administration, the beneficiation of low-grade ore, waste-to-(wealth) value addition and industrial operations.

As a seasoned leader in the iron ore mining industry, Dr. Mohapatra’s core competencies include strategic project management, operational excellence, and technical leadership. He possesses deep expertise in regulatory affairs, government liaison, ore processing / beneficiation, new mining property evaluations, and executing mining auctions and project developments.

Prior to joining Gallantt Group, Dr. Mohapatra held senior key leadership roles at MESCO Steels Group Companies, Sarda Mines Pvt. Ltd. (JSPL Project), and Rungta Mines Limited, where he gained extensive experience across the mining and steel sectors.

In his new role at Gallantt Group, Dr. Mohapatra will bring his industry knowledge and operational expertise to strengthen the company’s long-term mining strategy, optimize current asset operations and head upcoming project development initiatives.
