Hyundai Motor Group plans to invest $15.5 billion in India between 2026 and 2032, focusing on expanding manufacturing capabilities, strengthening research and development, and building a more robust automotive supply chain. The investment reflects the group’s long-term strategy to expand its presence in one of the world’s major automotive markets.

The investment will support the operations of Hyundai Motor India and Kia India, with a focus on local component manufacturing, future mobility technologies and research infrastructure. The group also plans to establish a dedicated investment entity in India to oversee and execute its expansion strategy, supporting greater localisation and the development of advanced automotive capabilities.

The announcement followed a meeting in New Delhi between Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The planned investment highlights the growing role of India in the group’s manufacturing, innovation and supply chain strategy as the automotive industry continues to evolve toward new mobility technologies.
