Intel and Oracle plan multiyear collaboration for cloud computing

Intel and Oracle have announced plans for a multiyear collaboration to expand Intel Xeon-based computing on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The partnership aims to address growing demand for enterprise applications, agentic AI and AI inference workloads by strengthening cloud computing capacity. The collaboration will cover current and future Intel Xeon platforms, including planned OCI X14 offerings powered by Intel’s next-generation server processor, codenamed Diamond Rapids. The planned offerings are expected to feature enhanced Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions with FP8, FP16 and BF16 support for inference, alongside Intel Advanced Performance Extensions. The companies also plan to coordinate technology roadmaps and processor capacity planning to support OCI’s expansion. Intel’s Kevork Kechichian highlighted Xeon’s performance and hardware-based confidential computing capabilities, while Oracle’s Pradeep Vincent said the collaboration would help expand the computing capacity required for enterprise AI workloads. #Intel #Oracle #EnterpriseAI #cxolanes
