Shankar Sharan has been appointed Managing Director at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Petrochemicals Marketing Limited (OPML) , a joint venture of ONGC, MRPL, and OPaL established to consolidate petrochemical marketing and trading activities across the group.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Group General Manager at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), following leadership roles in downstream operations and production. Across his 35-year career at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), he has held key responsibilities in crude oil and value-added products marketing, offshore asset management, production operations, and HSE, bringing extensive experience in the oil and energy sector.
