Workday has introduced Work Intelligence, a new AI-powered tool designed to help organisations determine which job tasks can be automated, what skills employees will need, and when additional talent should be hired. The tool breaks down roles into individual tasks, enabling businesses to understand how AI adoption could reshape workforce requirements and job responsibilities.
Introduced at Workday Rising 2026, Work Intelligence draws on Workday Skills Cloud, which covers more than 75,000 skills and supports over 3,450 customers. The tool helps employers identify skill gaps, plan employee training and development, and evaluate future recruitment needs as business priorities and technology requirements evolve.
Work Intelligence is currently available to early access customers of Workday HCM. The launch reflects the growing role of AI in strategic workforce planning, as organisations look to align employee capabilities, automation opportunities and hiring decisions with changing business needs.
