Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABDL), India’s third-largest spirits company, has appointed Anil Somani as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Somani takes over from Ramakrishnan Ramaswamy, who has been with ABDL for nearly 15 years.
Somani previously served as CFO and Director of Finance at Bata India, where he significantly improved the company’s financial performance through the implementation of a robust performance-management system. His experience spans over 32 years in various sectors, including manufacturing, retail, and consulting, with notable positions at Reliance Retail, Infiniti Retail (Croma), Walmart India, Metro Cash and Carry India, and CC Chokshi.
A qualified chartered accountant and certified SAP FICO Consultant, Somani brings deep expertise in financial management, strategy, internal controls, ERP implementation, digital transformation, and investor relations. His career includes successful ERP implementations and leading transformative finance and technology initiatives.
