BetterPlace, India’s leading technology platform for managing blue-collar workforce operations, has announced the appointment of Kushal Budhia as its new Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With a distinguished career in finance and strategy, Kushal Budhia brings over 12 years of experience in corporate strategy, business management, fund raising, IPOs, private equity, and investment banking to BetterPlace.
Kushal Budhia’s academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Strategy from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and he is a Chartered Accountant, certified by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. His educational background, combined with his extensive professional experience, makes him a valuable addition to BetterPlace’s leadership team.
Before joining BetterPlace, Kushal Budhia held several key positions at Pepperfry, one of India’s largest e-commerce companies in the furniture and home goods sector. As the Chief Strategy Officer at Pepperfry, he was responsible for driving business strategy, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Prior to this, Kushal served as the Chief Category Officer at Pepperfry, where he managed the entire business profit and loss across various categories, including furniture, home goods, and mattresses.
Kushal’s expertise extends beyond Pepperfry. He was instrumental in the success of Barbeque Nation Hospitality Limited, where he served as the Head of Strategy, Business Development, and Investor Relations. During his tenure, he led the company through its IPO process, ensuring a successful listing despite challenging macroeconomic conditions.
Earlier in his career, Kushal was part of the investment team at Jupiter Capital Private Limited, where he managed investments across the hospitality and aviation sectors. His experience also includes a stint as an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs, where he was involved in high-profile M&A transactions, including the acquisition of Pioneer Investments by Amundi.
In his new role as Group CFO at BetterPlace, Kushal Budhia will oversee the company’s financial operations, drive strategic initiatives, and support its ambitious growth plans. His extensive experience in finance and strategy, combined with his proven leadership capabilities, will be invaluable as BetterPlace continues to expand its footprint in India’s rapidly growing blue-collar workforce management sector.
