Telenor Group’s CFO Tone Hegland Bachke Moves On, Kasper Wold Kaarbø Steps Up

In a recent announcement, Telenor Group disclosed a significant change in its leadership as Tone Hegland Bachke, the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has decided to embark on a new chapter in her career journey. Bachke will be transitioning to a prominent role as a member of the Executive Board of Directors at SHV Holdings N.V., headquartered in the Netherlands.

During her tenure spanning six years at Telenor and four years serving as Group CFO, Bachke has played a pivotal role in the company’s strategic evolution and overall performance. Sigve Brekke, CEO of Telenor Group, expressed sincere appreciation for Bachke’s unwavering dedication and valuable contributions throughout her tenure.

Stepping into the role of acting CFO from May 8th onwards will be Kasper Wold Kaarbø, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Performance & Ownership within Telenor Group. Kaarbø brings extensive experience to his new role, having been associated with Telenor since 2004. Over the years, he has held various senior positions encompassing finance and strategy functions within the group. Additionally, Kaarbø has held multiple board positions within Telenor and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at CelcomDigi.

Bachke will remain with Telenor until August 1st, ensuring a smooth transition period as the company navigates this leadership change.

Bachke’s departure marks a notable milestone in her career trajectory, having initially joined Telenor in 2018 as the head of group treasury before ascending to the position of Group CFO in 2020. Prior to her tenure at Telenor, Bachke held distinguished leadership roles, including CEO and CFO positions at construction company Implenia, along with serving as a board member at Veidekke.

In response to Bachke’s departure, CEO Sigve Brekke extended gratitude for her relentless commitment to Telenor’s strategic advancement and operational excellence.

The transition in CFO leadership underscores Telenor’s commitment to maintaining stability and continuity amidst changes in its executive team. As Kasper Wold Kaarbø assumes his new responsibilities, Telenor remains steadfast in its pursuit of delivering value to its stakeholders and driving sustainable growth in the telecommunications sector.
