Nitin Jain, a seasoned professional with nearly 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development, has recently taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer – New Business at Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL). His journey is marked by significant achievements in the consumer goods sector, particularly in the pet care industry.
Before joining GCPL in, Jain held the position of Sales Director at Mars Petcare, where he was instrumental in building the pet category in India. Under his leadership, the brands Pedigree, Whiskas, Sheba, and Cesar saw substantial growth, making the pet care category one of the fastest-growing segments in the consumer goods industry in India. His role involved not only driving sales and market share but also implementing digital transformation initiatives that enhanced customer engagement and loyalty.
Jain’s career began with an MBA in Sales, Distribution, and Marketing from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). He further augmented his expertise with a Diploma in Digital Business Transformation from Columbia Business School.
At Mars, Jain’s contributions were recognized as he was selected for the Global Mars Development Program (GMDP), preparing him for top leadership roles within the company. His experience also includes a strategic leadership role at Innoworth Technologies, where he was part of the founding team of a grocery automation startup.
In his new role at GCPL, Jain will focus on driving new business initiatives and exploring growth opportunities in emerging markets. His experience in leading cross-functional teams and his deep understanding of the consumer goods landscape will be crucial in shaping the future strategies of GCPL.
