Kedar Apte Appointed as Senior VP of EV Charging Infrastructure at Mahindra & Mahindra

Kedar Apte, currently serving as the Chief of International Operations for the Farm Equipment Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), will take on a new role as Senior Vice President and Head of Charging Infrastructure for both the Auto and Farm Sectors. In this capacity, Kedar Apte will spearhead M&M’s efforts to develop its electric vehicle (EV) charging network, a crucial aspect of the company’s EV strategy. He will report directly to Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector, and Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division.

In his new role, Kedar will focus on building a EV charging ecosystem to support M&M’s upcoming EV product launches. His responsibilities will include managing charging infrastructure development across homes, offices, and other locations, as well as utilizing the company’s Powerol network to identify new growth opportunities. This move is part of M&M’s larger commitment to electrification, with plans to launch at least six new electric vehicles over the next few years, including models on the Inglo platform, such as the XUV e8 and BE05.

M&M’s aggressive push into the EV market includes an investment of crores, with a production capacity target of lakhs of units annually. The company aims for 20-30% of its total sales to come from the EV segment within the next coming years. Kedar Apte’s wealthy experience in global markets, as well as his previous leadership roles at companies like Unilever, Castrol BP, and Jio-bp, makes him well-suited to lead this critical business segment.
