Welspun Corp Limited, a prominent Indian multinational manufacturer of large-diameter pipes, has appointed Swapnil Jugade as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for IT and Digital. In his new role, Jugade will lead the company’s digitization initiatives, focusing on the implementation of a comprehensive IT and digital roadmap. This includes overseeing plant automation projects across various units to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Jugade brings with him over 25 years of extensive experience in the field of information technology and business process transformation. Prior to joining Welspun Corp, he was with Revent Engineering Group, a precision machinery company, where he was responsible for driving IT and infrastructure initiatives. Throughout his career, Jugade has held various IT leadership roles at prestigious organizations such as Godrej & Boyce, Schneider Electric, Cummins (in both India and the USA), C&S Electric, and Yokohama Off-Highway Tires.
Reflecting on his career journey, Jugade expressed, “It has been a very exciting journey all in all. From an ERP manager to becoming an enterprise IT leader, a manufacturing IT head, and then to becoming a CIO in various MNCs and global organizations—every role came with exposure to new technology platforms or new applications, making this journey more interesting.” His ability to solve complex business problems using data and analysis, along with his expertise in business process transformation drives such as ERP and IT automation, has been a hallmark of his career.
In addition to his extensive professional experience, Jugade holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical and Electronics from the Government College of Engineering Karad and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research. His professional certifications include project management, BCM, ITPM, and Six Sigma, and he is an Oracle Global Certified ERP Expert. Jugade’s new role at Welspun Corp is expected to significantly contribute to the company’s ongoing efforts to harness the power of digital transformation and innovation.
