Realisation allows for adoption and execution risk. Discount rate is an assumption; replace it with your WACC or hurdle rate. No depreciation is modelled.

This calculator provides indicative outputs based solely on the inputs you enter. It is not financial, tax or investment advice.

AI ROI Calculator FAQs

The AI ROI Calculator is for anyone assessing an AI project, including business leaders, founders, operations teams, consultants and students. You enter your assumptions and receive cash flows, returns and a transparent explanation. No finance background is required, and the tool does not assume you are a CFO.

The calculator models benefits and costs across the analysis horizon. ROI compares undiscounted benefits with costs, NPV discounts future cash flows into today’s terms, and IRR finds a discount rate where NPV is zero. Payback estimates when cumulative cash flows recover the investment. Every formula is available for review.

Quick estimate needs six inputs: people doing the task, annual loaded cost, time share, expected automation, one-time project cost and annual running cost. Detailed mode adds multiple use cases, error reduction, working capital, revenue benefits and investment categories. Realisation, ramp, discount rate and other assumptions are visible and editable.

No. All financial outputs are calculated by deterministic formulas from your inputs and editable assumptions. AI can write commentary about the computed results and highlight assumptions to validate, but it cannot change the financial model. If commentary is unavailable, a template explanation is used and the calculator still works.

Financial inputs stay in your browser session unless you explicitly save a scenario. Entering contact details to unlock advanced results does not save the financial model. Saved scenarios use private access links and can be deleted. Company names, emails and raw financial inputs are never sent to the commentary provider.

Use a rate that reflects your organisation’s cost of capital or hurdle rate and the risk of the project. The default is an editable assumption, not a market benchmark or recommendation. A higher discount rate reduces the present value of later benefits; review sensitivity before relying on the result.
