Tony Chambers has been appointed as the new President of The Walt Disney Company for its EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) division. This appointment is part of a strategic restructuring aimed at aligning the company’s entertainment operations more closely with its global strategy. Chambers will report directly to Disney Entertainment Co-Chairmen Alan Bergman and Dana Walden, as well as ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro.
Under the new structure, several business segments in the region, including Direct-to-Consumer, Ad Sales, Platform Distribution, Local Original Content, and Theatrical Distribution, will now report directly to global leaders for greater operational unification. The regional president’s responsibilities will include consolidating strategic priorities, overseeing shared services, and coordinating regional initiatives across businesses, excluding Disney Experiences.
Chambers succeeds Jan Koeppen, who is stepping down in February after six successful years leading Disney EMEA. Koeppen played a pivotal role in launching Disney+ in the region and driving its growth during a transformative period for the company.
In his new role, Chambers aims to build on the momentum achieved in the EMEA region, leveraging his extensive experience and collaborative leadership style to drive continued growth and innovation.
The company also plans to announce a new global head of Theatrical Distribution soon as part of the ongoing restructuring efforts.
